Tartan Heart - PULSE Talent Trawl

In association with Mad Hatters at Hootananny's (Inverness) and HUBL, the web site for contemporary Highland muscians, Belladrum Festival is running 'PULSE' - a trawl for contemporary musical talent through the Highlands, Orkney and Shetland.

After making an initial selection from entries submitted by post (deadline 10th June) , the organisers will invite successful musicians to attend one of a series of selection events held during May and June

in Inverness, Dingwall, Nairn, Alness, Thurso, Skye, Oban, Orkney and Shetland. From these events, a short-list will be chosen to attend the Mad Hatters finals on Wednesday July 27th.

Musicians entering must:

Be over 16
Be playing their own original material (no covers)
Send in an entry form (download from here, www.hubl.co.uk or www.hootananny.co.uk) together with a demo (Desk recordings are allowed but no MP3s)

The organisers of Pulse cannot meet any costs associated with transporting artists or crew or their equipment to or from Pulse events. The organisers take no responsibility for loss or damage to equipment or personal effects belonging to artists or crew at any Pulse event. The decision of the Pulse judges is final. No demos will be returned.

Winners of Pulse will open the main stage at the Belladrum Festival on 12th August. Runners-up will be offered gigs at venues around Inverness during the run-up to the festival.
