Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival News - August 06 |
What a Feastie It's Gonnae Be! The
full running order and programme for Belladrum are now up on the
web site - and what an aural feast it promises. Visitors to the site
can also download our second podcast, featuring exclusive interviews
with Echo & The Bunnymen, Martha Wainwright and Arlo Guthrie.
And if you can't make it to Bella this year, you have our sympathies
- BBC Radio Scotland can offer you the chance to listen to live broadcasts
and interviews from the event. |
General Monkey Business As
Liza Minnelli helpfully pointed out - 'Life is a cabaret, old chum,
only a cabaret.' So bring your fancy dress to Bella, the bowler hat,
the fishnets, put on the style, dance to retro-swing DJ the Rev Rum
Tum Ti Bum Bum and enjoy the weird and wonderful collection of acts
that make up the Flash Monkey's Cabaret Casbah. 'What good is sitting
alone in your room? Come hear the music play.' |
And for Those of More Tender Years Circus
skills, horror stage make-up, stage fighting, costume try-on, clay-modelling,
clowning, parachute games, musical instrument making, storytelling,
rapid drama, graff word art, hat making, mask making, puppets, face-painting,
dragon finding - who'd ever want to grow up? And if you look carefully,
you might even find heaven on earth at Bella |
Green Flashing Light We're
having a right go at cleaning our act up this year - and we need
you to help us. Skips and bins there will be a-plenty, and the Green
Dream Machine, a bells and whistles recycling unit where artists
will turn tin cans into Tintorettos in the twinkling of a ringpull.
The Eco Police will be on the beat, looking for green meanies and
calling them to account. So think eco and bin it, don't just drop
it! |
Fringe Benefits Back
by popular demand, Bella's fringe - only longer and more luxurious
than last year. A host of gigs around the Highlands and elsewhere
begin to build the air of expectation and delight. You can find details
at www.myspace.com/tartanheartfringe |
