Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival News - July 06

Yup - There's A Monster Coming Over The Hill!

Belladrum - the Tartan Heart Festival (just over the hill from Loch Ness) pops up again on 11th & 12th August with a stellar line-up to celebrate its third appearance. Creators of this summer's monster anthem 'The Automatic' are joined by Dundee band 'The View', the latest act to be added to a bill which includes Embrace, Echo & The Bunnymen, Biffy Clyro, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, The Wonder Stuff, the Vatersay Boys, Session A9 and Arlo Guthrie. In all, around 100 acts representing a wide range of genres will perform over five stages at the family friendly two-day event. See the full line-up and buy tickets at www.tartanheartfestival.co.uk

Tickets Going At The Double

It's not too late to buy tickets for this year's Bella but hurry, they're going at double the rate of last year! Details of online and telephone sellers and retail outlets all over Scotland are on the web site at www.tartanheartfestival.co.uk. Adult weekend tickets are £60, limited Saturday tickets are £40 and kids under 12 are free (max 3 per adult).

The Miniscule of Sound

The Miniscule of Sound, officially the world's smallest nightclub, makes its first appearance in Scotland at Bella. MoS artists take on the roles of DJs, door staff, famous clientele, and the omnipresent proprietor. You the "audience" are invited to take on the role of the queuing public - hounded by unreasonable security, repeatedly snubbed at the door by VIP guests, and eventually admitted into the true-to-life miniature night club – only to be ejected indiscriminately at the will of the door staff.
And the audiences keep coming back...

Waiting in the Wings

For the first time, this year's festival features a stage combining cabaret, theatre and music - the Venus Flytrap Palais. The Saturday night headline spot is filled by Flash Monkey's Cabaret Casbah, fresh (and we mean that) from London's Cafe de Paris where burlesque is their speciality. Other acts include aerial theatre and kids' entertainment from Kid Carpet.

Something for the Weekend, Sir?

Boys - get a traditional barber's shave to take away that scratchy feeling after a night under canvas - great value because it can leave you smooth for up to 3 days (for those of you who aren't smoothies already). And girls - coloured hair extensions available! Also at the show, pay-for showers, various body pampering and beautifying treatments, and even ego massages. Keep it clean.
