BELLADRUM TARTAN HEART FESTIVAL NEWS - 31 May 2007 |
HOME JAMES! (AND DON'T SPARE THE HORSES) JAMES
are bringing it all back home as Bella's superb Saturday night
headliners this year. And THE MAGIC NUMBERS top the Friday night
bill, in their only Scottish outdoor festival appearance at Bella's
fourth birthday party on 10th & 11th August 2007. These are joined by the varied cast of high quality artists that Bella fans have come to expect including: Lloyd Cole, Julian Cope, Sandy Thom, Misty In Roots, Mumm-Ra, 1990s, The Earlies, Duke Special, Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby, Kate Nash, The Dykeenies, Pete & The Pirates, Ben's Brother, Peatbog Fairies and many more. Check out www.tartanheartfestival.co.uk for details |
SHADES OF THE MAN IN BLACK Johnny
Cash's original Tennessee 3 band are coming to Bella, playing
the Man in Black's hits in an exclusive and historic Scottish
appearance. No-one can remember when T3 last played Scotland with
JC, but one thing's for certain, they ain't never done
it on their own before. With Alabama 3 - whose last 'Outlaw' album contained a Cash tribute - also back at Bella this year, and an appearance by veteran Scots rocker Jackie Leven who recorded his own tribute to Cash, the weekend is going to belong to Johnny. |
WALK THE WALK It's
the year to throw caution to the winds and come as your fantasy
alternative persona. Yes, it's fancy dress year at Bella! The
weirder, the more extravagantly you dress up in your fantasies,
the more you'll enjoy this year's fest. Needless to say,
our cunningly disguised roving judges will be awarding prizes to
the best dressed amongst you. Hell, you could even come as a boy
named Sue! |
SAFE LISTENING! If
you've never experienced the phenomenon of the great British
Public Information Film, you're either too young or you've
miraculously survived without all the good advice on offer from
these jolly little health and safety homilies. Continuing this
fine tradition, Bella's Health and Safety officer presents
our very own public information film on the perils of listening
too hard at popular music festivals. Check it out YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENJt5YrYfqQ)
and send the link to your friends and family.SMOKE SIGNALS Frantic ones, in fact, from Groovy Greg in Reservations. He's running out of tipis already, despite bringing more on site this year. So if you want to experience conical karma and you haven't booked yet, you'd better high-tail an email off to Greg at info@tipihire.com or call him on 01362 680074 |
THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW (AND DIDN'T WANT TO) The
expression 'Home James... and don't spare the horses' was
coined by Queen Victoria. Her carriage driver was named James Darling
and to avoid the obvious and Blackadderesque embarrassment of shouting 'Home
Darling!' (which might have had the additional drawback of
upsetting John Brown), she opted for the more familiar form of
address. |
