Alcohol – can I take it into the event?
Providing you are 18 or over, you can take alcohol into the campsites, so long as it is not in a glass container. You cannot take alcohol into the festival arena areas, and due to licensing laws, you cannot take alcohol purchased in the arena back to the camp sites.
Arrival – when can I arrive at the event if I have a weekend ticket?
Campsites open 1300 Thursday 5th August and you can arrive anytime from then onwards until midnight, although the festival arena will not open until around 1800.
On the Friday and Saturday, entry closes at midnight. If you arrive after this, you will not be able to enter camping areas until 0800 the following morning.
Camping
- Can I camp on Friday night if I have a Saturday ticket? No. Your Saturday ticket gives you access to the event from 0900 on the Saturday morning.
- Which area should I camp in? If you are bringing children, you should go to the family area (green pass) which is for families only and if you require quiet camping, you should go to the quiet area (yellow pass) but you will be moved from both areas to the general camping area if you make a noise there; campervan and caravans should go to the area set aside for them (blue pass); disabled campers should go to the zone designated for them (orange pass).
- I have bought tickets but I don’t want to camp – can I get a reduction on my ticket price? No, the price of camping and parking are included but both are optional.
- What time to I have to leave by? 1300 on Sunday 8th August
Campervans and Caravans
- Is there electrical hook-up? No
- Are tow-ins/outs available if I get stuck? Yes. But the festival accepts no responsibility for any damage that occurs to your vehicle whilst it is being towed at the event.
- Are caravans allowed? Yes
- Is there a charge? Yes. Numbers of campervans and caravans have grown enormously over the past few years, and they take up more room than tented campers. For that reason, we have had to introduce a charge of £25 this year (tickets available through all ticket outlets). You will need to show a campervan & caravan ticket as well as your blue hanger.
- Can I pitch a tent next to my campervan/ caravan? The short answer is ‘No’ – but we may turn a blind eye if the tent in question is small and tucked well in. And no additional parking is available in this area – if you have friends coming who are not in a campervan or caravan, they must park in one of the other areas.
- Are trailer tents allowed in this area? Yes
Children and Under 18s:
- Child passes – how do I obtain more? Make contact with the agent who sold you your original tickets and request additional passes, or call in at any of the ticket retail outlets. Remember – only three persons under 18 per accompanying ticket-holding adult are allowed at the festival; all under 18s must be accompanied at all times at the event by a ticket-holding adult. If gate staff are in any doubt about the age of 12 & under ticket holders, they will ask for photo ID; if you cannot produce it, you will be charged for a full ticket.
- Can I leave my children at the festival? No – everyone under 18 has to be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult and to enter the event with a ticket-holding adult (max 3 under 18s per adult); it is highly irresponsible to leave your children unsupervised at the festival and incidents of this nature will be reported to the authorities.
- Is the festival safe for children? Bella is very much a family festival and each year we have up to 2000 children aged 12 and under with plenty for them to do; however, there are adults only areas of the festival and it is your responsibility to keep care of your children and/ or dependants at all times at the festival.
- What do I do if I lose my child? Make contact with the nearest steward or go to the Festival Welfare Office.
Animals – can I bring them? No: health and safety regs do not permit.
Disabled:
- Are all areas of the festival accessible by wheel chair? Yes, and there are special disabled viewing areas in may of the arenas

- Where do I park? You should ask for an orange pass which will allow you to park in the disabled parking/camping area.
Gas:
Are camping gas stoves allowed? Yes, but only if used safely and correctly. Do not use any cookers inside a tent or near the entrance – use them outside your tent and well away from your own and other tents; wait until gas cylinders are completely empty before changing them and do not change them in a tent; turn the appliance off after use; no naked flames inside a tent. Gas cookers insider camper vans and caravans should be safety tested and gas cylinders kept outside the van which should contain a fully charged water or dry power fire extinguisher. Go to http://www.fireservice.co.uk/safety/bbq.php for further information on safety
Glass – is it allowed anywhere on site? No
ID – who needs it?
If you are between the ages of 7 and 25, we strongly advise you to bring photographic ID. If you look older than 12 but have a 12 & under ticket, gate staff will ask for photographic of your age. If you cannot produce it, you will be charged for a full ticket. At bars, staff will ask for ID if they think you may not be 18 and will not serve you if you cannot produce it. A proof-of-age photo-ID card which can be obtained from www.citizencard.com.
